I just picked up on this from rennlist. The accused was a rennlist member and two member's cars were stolen (the 951 and F355, maybe others). The accused is in the court system now and it will be interesting to see how long he's been in biz stealing and stripping cars and how far-reaching his operation was.
Anyway, I thought it was pertinent to anyone of us who post lots of details about our toys online. Ours are likely low on the steal chart, but covering license plates in pics and leaving out details of where we park is good measure.
Here is the (very long) thread on the missing 951 and it's recovery. Note that this was a well-modified example, not a stock car that would be much more anonymous.

The details on this genius are: Morgan Kipper, using a Billerica, NH address and a Cambridge, MA address. There are more details in the thread as well as contacts for MA prosecutors if you have had dealings with this guy.

Unbelievable.
The audacity of the guy...he was replying in the thread saying how 'it made him feel sick', he should 'up the reward' and next time he should 'get a GPS tracker'.

Wow, I really feel sorry for that guy. It sounds like it was heavily modded too. Poor guy. I would ben furious if someone even keyed my car, I don't know what I'd do if it were stolen. I've been worrying that when I get my car running, someone will mess with it at school to "get at the rich kids Porsche" Even though I not rich, I bet someone would do that. I hate people who mess up other peoples fun because they are to lazy to work for it like we do. I think I would kick some A if someone did that.

I have followed the thread in Rennlist too. It wasn't some unmodified new 911 or Boxster, it was a car that had so much work put in and one guy just didn't care a squat about that..... _________________ '83 924 2.6 16v Turbo, 470hp
