|
|
Hello!
I am a new member from Norway
My car:
1979 mod.
924 Na
146`km
Snailshell gearbox
Totally stripped down and re painted by last owner, he also added the carrera gt front lip and rear fenders
944 front bumper (?)
Compomotive cx wheels (15x9 rear and 7x15 in front)
+
Custom 4" exhaust tip
Aftermarket steering wheel, and no radio, last owner liked the *racing* look:
I just love the car!
But i believe it needs lowering in front
and maybe spacers rear.
What do you think? _________________ x79 924

Definately looks clean! I like it. You would be right about lowering it a tad in the front. I like how clean the interior is too, but I would need a radio..
Is the exhaust 4 inches all the way back? Seems like on a n/a 924 you would end up losing a lot of torque. _________________ [This Space For Rent] |

It's just 944 front fenders away from complete Carrera GT look
Haven't you ever considered doing this as far you have even the Carrera GT front bumper?
Heck, it's just buying the fenders and them painted red.
EDIT: As for racing look, you should do this also:
*Hint: look at the tachometer location*

Thanks
Its not 4" all the way its just a tip, who is welded on the rear muffler. Nice sound, not noisy _________________ x79 924 |

Yes i am tempted to do that
Its now a ugly gap between the fenders and bumper, I need 944 fenders to make it look nice. But i don't know yet, I will do it if i decide to do a full respray

Car is definitely looking good, just needs boost.
Rather than changing fenders maybe a new front nose that is designed to fit the stock fenders.
We are working with Fiberwerks to re-create a 924 friendly front end. We have a couple guys demanding them, and just need a couple more to spur them into making it happen.
The F-44 looks like this on a 944 and would have a very similar look to it when custom made for the 924.
Just a thought. _________________ Sid

Sry, but narrow front wings with wide rear end just doesn't look very proportioned. _________________ '83 924 2.6 16v Turbo, 470hp

Welcome to the 'board, mate.
Nice car. Very tidy.
But like the others, I reckon it'd look better with the flared front, as well. _________________ '80 924 Turbo |

I like it, but I wouldn't have put the rear flares on it. If I wanted a 944, I'd buy one!
Where did you buy the front valance? Is the original spoiler and grill behind it, or did you remove them?

Answer to all you gt fan s: I don't think the car look out of proportion with the carrera gt flares, nobody who has seen the car in real life has mention that, but i will be out on the lookout for 944 front flares

Snailshell came in some of the 79 models, after that they used the "audi" gearbox
I got 4 bolts, how large are your spacers?

The original grill\spoiler is behind, but you cant Se it.
The same is done in the rear, the original flare is still there, giving me the option of removing the carrera flares if i want to
I believe it was bought from Pefa Gt design, but i really don`t know

Those are not only the most high tech rims I've ever seen, since they recieve phone calls, they must also be the most popular! _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."
