I was changing the control arm bushings on my wifes '83 N/A and one of the caster block bolts came off very hard and when putting new bolt back, the thread was gone

Any suggestions? Maybe helicoil? Or is there other way out than cutting the mounting and wleding new piece there

Three choices;
1) Re-cut the thread to the next nominal thread size. (Easiest.)
2) Heli-coil. (Next easiest but a little more expensive.)
3) Drill and bottom old hole.Manufacture internally threaded insert and weld into place. (Most pain in the ass but only way to keep stock thread size while maintaining structural integrity.)
