Hi, guys,
Winter's coming and I'd like to upgrade the heater in my wife's 924. We've got parts from an early 944 and I was wondering if they'll bolt right in. To whit: heater core, heater blower, ducting, wiring.
I've R&R'ed the dashes in these cars a few times and know my way around, but I was hoping to get some input from someone who's done this particular swap.
Sad, I know, that I'm prepping for winter in August, but there it is...

Sadly the sheet metal for the 82 and later ( and 944) under the dash are very different to take advantage of the improved heater and squirrel fan.
Ask Nick about the conversion. He bought the parts from a 844 from me to drop into his car (lots of metal work), if I remember what he said correctly. At the time he told me what he wanted the ventilation system parts for, I questioned the amount of work that was going to be necessary to make the 944 parts work in a 924. |

Okay - thanks gohim. What I now understand is that there were three generations of heater/ducting for these cars: the early 924, the '82 and later 924 and early944, and the late 944. I think I'll leave this alone and make the best of what's in the 924 already.
Again, thanks for the info. _________________ '88 944 Auto - may or may not resurrect |
