Hey,
While driving my 1977 Porsche 924, I noticed that the Brake and Oil Indicator Lights in the dash will randomly blink on, and then off (Oil is full and without touching the brakes). I believe it has something to do with the position of the clutch, because it seems to do it more when it is in. Hasn't been a major issue; was just curious if this is a common problem, something serious, or just faulty wiring.

Thanks a bunch

Your parking brake switch thinks the parking brake is on?

Mine does that randomly - haven't had a chance to check it out but I'm assuming there is a dodgy connection somewhere. First few times it happened my hand whipped down to the lever so fast I almost dislocated my shoulder!

Cheers,

The switch on the parking brake mount provides a ground for the lights.

If the insulation on its wire is bad or if the switch is shorting, the lights will come on.

Yeah, I figured it was just old wiring. The lights are grounded to the switch, huh? Alright, if it gets to the point where it bothers me I'll take care of it, and let you guys know.

Thanks
