thanks, as the qeustion states, will a 931 tranny from an 80 fit into a 944? I believe yea, but not 100% sure??

Vaughan's advice is an definite understatement. NOT a bolt on.
If you want to try it, get the torsion bar carrier from them also. And you will need the shift linkage all the way from the trans to the knob. _________________ John
