Hi,
I've been lurking long enough. My name is Jason and I live in Tacoma, Washington. Next weekend I am picking up a 1980 924 for free. My dad found it up by Mt Ranier, and the guy told him he could have it......it is a bit rough but the main body is straight and rust-free. I have aspirations of turning it into a carrera replica. I will keep you guys posted. |

Welcome fellow noob!
I am intrigued by the VW bit at the start of your handle. Another aircooled fan like me? _________________ Pete

I am a fan of all VW's and Porsches. I started with a 1966 Beetle, and it all went downhill from there. I now drive a 1971 Mercedes Benz 280SE 4.5 (modified, of course). My father is the Porschephile in the family. He has a 1961 356B and a 1977 911 targa. |

*Drool* A real one? *Drool* They are getting a bit thin on the ground nowadays.
I started off with a '71 and then an '80's Mexi bug. As you say, it all went downhill from there! _________________ Pete

Yes, a real one. It's a bit rough around the edges but he loves it. I'll see if I can source a photo of it. |

Welcome to a fellow NW person!
Here's the story on my 79 Carrera-esque adventure so far:
http://www.924board.org/viewtopic.php?t=17911
Not much has changed except the purchaisng of a number of 5-lug brake conversion parts and some interior parts. Still need to fix the leaks and of course find the reason for no compression on number one cylinder.
Lest us know how the new arrival turns out! |
