So has anyone here weighed their car? I have weighed mine at a few truck scales and they all tell me 1070/2350lbs with a full tank of gas.

My car seems to have a hefty rear weight bias as well. I think it was something like 40kg heavier in the rear!

remove tire, cut shocks, or use euro bumpers, remove insulation, use lighter muffler, remove the top of the rear seats and you will get lighter.

Oh yes, go on a diet.

Local junkyard, I weighed my car at, I believe, 2650lbs with 7/8's tank of gas and few things in the hatch.

Way ahead of you Vince. No tire, shocks are being replaced shortly by aluminum brackets. Muffler is slated for replacement eventually. All interior behind the doors is gone. All carpet, trim, etc.

Sound deadening is gone. All power components have been replaced by manual, air conditioning is gone, so is the entire HV assembly in fact.

Working on a plan to cut out the entire rear deck including spare tire well and put a fuel cell where the spare tire well once was. This should lower the centre of gravity, shave a few pounds and give me a good deal more cargo room. It seems there is a structural brace above the gas tank between the frame spars that will be the limiting factor in this plan.

Also, I'm the lightest I've been in about 7 years.

Something occurred to me, the rear ride height is still too high on this car. I'm betting that the weight distribution will change somewhat once the rear ride height is set to the correct level.

My car weighs 2620 with:
me (160lbs)
40lbs lead ballast
3/8 tank gas (about 4-5 gal?)
cage (estimate 120#)

no interior except dash and HVAC system (probably compensates for the cage).

So weight without me we're talking 2440#. That's the racecar

My other cars, sans driver, weigh closer to 2750-2800# - no mods or equipment removed.

Corner weights - 650 per corner, except (as of last weigh-in) a 20# bias in the rear - so 650# each front, 660# each rear corner.

Guy's,

Mine is down to 943 kg,(2074lb) with a perfect 50:50 weight balance. She could be a lot lighter without the cage. As for me...ahem, lets say i'm somewhere north of 200, but in fine fettle you understand.....

2560lbs with 1\2 tank and SC mounted. Should be down to 2460 with removal of a few things outlined in the Body and Interior section.

started with 1130 Kg....thats what the papers say.

nothing is "power" on this car...everything is manual.
-25Kg removed spare weel, rear seats upper part and rear hatch carpets.
-10Kg removed front bumber complete with valance or whatever its called.
+10Kg removed old style 4 lugs system added heavyer(i guess) all vented disks 5 bold system.
Added Carrera body-kit:

rear arches alone ~ 4 Kg or smth like that
side skirts ~ 1 Kg
front bumper ~ 6 Kg
+ A SHIT LOAD OF FILLER...around the rear arches, front end and where the side skirts meet the rear arches...
this alone i think its ~ 5 Kg

so i've lightend my car by ~35 and added an extra ~30Kg of weight.

buuuuulllllllllshit if you ask me

next thing is remove all the exhaust piping, replace it with a ~2.3 inch(58mm interior) INOX pipe form front to back and use just a 944 final exhaust piece(55mm interior).
hopfully this will save 5 more Kilos and still be quiet enough to drive on the street.

anyway i think its around the same weight....but it looks better and drives nicer.

But if you convert your brakes to 951 ones with aluminium calipers, they'll be lighter.

Or the wilwood brakes, those are a good option too.

Most importantly, this weight is unsprung weight at the very end of the control/trailing arms, making it very very very important weight to lose.
