well, I guess I'm no longer a virgin. I completed my first "real" repair work on my 924. I've done odds and ends, but this brake job required a little more than just doing this or that.
it started two weeks ago when I saw a puddle at both my rear wheels. Suspecting it was the wheel cylinders, I removed the drums to inspect and sure enough it was. So, on both sides, I replaced the wheel cylinder, replaced the shoes, free'd up my parking brake (except coming from the cab), repacked the wheel bearing (while I was there), and discovered the two little wholes in the rear drim plate that allows you to adjust the shoes without having to take the drums off.
This was much easier having the use of a lift at my buddies dealership. Next, order and install the Bilsteins. _________________ 924.org (no time to complete)

I've done both shocks and brakes, the shocks are the easier job by far! _________________ 1987 951 - M193 Version for Japan |

Yes, rear is 4 bolts, it might take you longer to jack up the rear than it does for you to change the shocks. The front is more involved. If you're replacing the bushings on the control arms (which you should) it is easier to take them somewhere with a large press to have the bushings removed and installed. _________________ 1987 951 - M193 Version for Japan |
