I have some one looking for a 1981 924 turbo transmission. I do have a 1987 924S transmission. Is there any reason it would not work? They have the same diameter input shafts right?

Has anyone done this? Do the bell housings match up? I know the 944 bell housing did not seem to match up to the stock 924 bell housing when I did a internal shaft swap.

Doesn't the 81 Turbo use the snail G31 trans? I was thinking the 82 Turbo was the only year that used the Audi style trans. If not then the 924S trans will bolt directly in.

The snail was used on all model years Euro 931 (79 and up), but only on the first market year for the U.S. (1980).
