Hey, I'm new here so hello everybody. I have a 1987 924S that I got about 6 months ago. When I fill the tank all the way it leaks about a gallon a fuel. It only leaks when it's full, don't top it off, doesn't leak The gas comes out somewhere at the front of the top, it flows along a grove from left to right then to the back and then down. I've taken the fuel neck cover off from inside the trunk and I can see the fuel but not where it comes from, even with a mirror I can't see anything. The previous owner had the dealer replace MOST of the hoses to and from the tank and the dealer told me if it is a hose problem they can write it off as warranty even if it's not one that they replaced. However, if it's not a hose and therefore under warranty, dropping the tank is $800 just for service. A diagram of the fuel system shows that there is a hose connecting to the top of the tank that could very well be the source of the leak but I am not sure. The car has never been in an accident and there is no rust anywhere, it is in very good condition so it seems unlikely that there is a hole or crack in the tank. Anyone have a suggestion? _________________ 87 924S |

what did you use to cut through the metal and get to the hoses? _________________ 87 924S |
