Finally the break-in on the new engine is done. Re-torqued the head bolts at 1000 miles last weekend and I was able to get out for my first real drive since then today, no more driving like a Granny keeping it at low revs. All I have to say is wow! I love the new setup (see details in my signature). The car pulls really strongly to 5500 rpm, past that nothing much exciting happens. The revs rise really quickly now between 3500 and 5500, much quicker than with the stock setup I had last summer. All-in-all I am very pleased with the setup and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an NA upgrage, it really brings the 924 to life. What a shame Porsche didn't make it this way right out of the box. _________________ 1987 951 - M193 Version for Japan |

What were the modifications you made? I remember you used the euro spec pistons, and did you use hotter cam? I really enjoyed your picture tutorial, and I will probably make good use of it this winter.

Glad all the pictures helped, I'm not a very good photographer, but I figured it was a better record than nothing. Here are the mods:
Eurorace (now European Motorworks) "Big Valve" Head - 44mm Intake / 37mm Exhaust
Stage I Cam - 233 duration x 470 lift
9.3:1 Compression (Euro Pistons)
Audi 5000 Throttle Body
Test Pipe (Cat Delete) _________________ 1987 951 - M193 Version for Japan |
