I currently on my 924S have 195/65 R 15 tires, and the Telephone dial rims i think ive heard them referred to as Turbo S Dials too im not sure but what not can i possibly put something like 225/40 R15s on these rims without them hitting the fenders on the rear?
thank you in advance

Your 924S came with 15" X 6" phone dial wheels.
These are not the same width or diameter as the phone dials that came on the 951 Turbo S.
IMHO 225s are going to be too wide to fit and work properly on 6" wide wheels. |

I have run 225 on 16x6 rims without an issue, just a matter of getting the correct offset.
but 205 is what alot run on 6" rims _________________ 3 928s, |

There is an maximum tire width acceptable for each wheel width calculated as a percentage of the tire width.
When the wheel width is below a specific percentage or above the specific of the width of the tire being used, the tire may not make contact properly with the ground (uneven), or the tire sidewalls may not be properly supported by the wheel.
Wheel width to tire width can also affect the specification for maximum tire loading.
To find out the recommended maximum width on a specific width wheel, and to get specific tire recommendations for specific uses, try dropping into some of the Websites of the larger mailorder tire companies.
A 225/40 is much smaller in diameter than the original 195/65 width tires that the 924S came with. You are going to have a HUGE speedometer error if you install this size of tire.
You would probably be (1) tire width too wide with 225. I think 215 are acceptable according to general tire fitting spec. rules. |
