I just got back from a nice and long roadtrip. (Only experienced a dead fuel relay, three loose and one missing weelbolt, and the spoiler on the driversside wiper broke off, all in all a good 8000+ kms trip)
On Saturday I was travelling back through Germany and not only did I see a nice Cayenne S that I followed me and that I followed for some minutes at 190 kmph until it started to pour down ... but for the very first time I saw a 924 on the Autobahn!
We followed eachother for several minues. It was a late 924 with a really great red colour, rearspoiler, rear wiper. Just like mine, except that mine is black. It was gorgeous to look at. I did snap a couple of photos, but they are blurry, buy you can see that it's a 924. I passed him at high speed after he had gotten a bit away from me, then he cought up with me just in time to get in infront of me and leave the A9 102 kms south of Berlin. If you are reading this, thanks for a great experience!
I bought the current issue of "der Stern", a german news magazine, and I just wanted to share this from what topped off a great 924 day. They have a short article about "Youngtimers", cars that are not too old yet (20-30 years). There is a photo of the front of a 924, and the caption is "Qualitätsprodukt: Porsche 924"
(I don't think that it needs a translation) Sadly, that was all there was about the 924 in that article. |

cool. I only saw one 924 while I was in Germany, it was a beautiful champagne one, with a 924, looked like it was one of the more luxurious ones. Too bad tho, it's headliner was falling out, kind of like mine. Man, Im so jealous of the euro version. Glad you had a good trip.
Btw, to you have a five speed? I cant imagine driving my 4 speed on the autobahn.
