I bought some body putty, but left it in the car over night and temps went below 0 Celsius. Can I still use it? I don't see why not since sooner or later it will have to withstand these temperatures, but it was still unused and not mixed with hardener.
Thanks,
JB |

I also have problem with its gigantor hugeness, quite annoying imo. But to stay on topic I wouldn't see why you couldn't use it. _________________ 1977 924 - sold

| Thanks guys. It doesn't say anything about storing temps, so I thought it should be fine. |

| Okay, each door has a dent in it. They are not too deep, but cover a large area. I have applied some filler to one of them, so it's perfeclty smooth, but then I saw a little crack at the edge. I took a blade and chipped off the bondo around 2-3 inches around it. The filler is around 2-3mm thick. I've hit the area that was filled with my fist, and there are no more cracks. Should I take all of the bondo off, and fiberglass it, or go over it again with bondo? I'd rather not have it crack later on. |

| Or should I take it all off, and hammer it out as much as I can. The reason why I didn't is because it didn't look too deep of a dent before, but I guess I might do that. |

Bondos strong though idf theres flaky paint it ll
crack later maybe as the bondos not very thick..
I like a light weight polyester filler called easy sand ..it
can be found at auto paint stores or on the net. _________________ 1979 porsche 924 Na

If you're concerned about cracking, use short strand reinforced fiberglass body filler. I just went through 1.25 gallons of the stuff fixing my car. Didn't use any of the non-reinforced stuff. Short strand goes on just about as easily as non-reinforced - you can't even see the fiberglass in it. It's about twice as much, but that only makes it ~$30/gal vs. ~$15. In addition to being stronger, it's waterproof. Evercoat's "Everglass" is short strand fiberglass and Kevlar reinforced.
I would remove all the old stuff both to be sure there isn't any rust hiding underneath and to straighten the panel more if needed. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."
