Hey guys, I just found this little 'gem' haha.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Porsche-924-From-Germany-1976-1-2-Porsche-924-GERMAN_W0QQitemZ270055278994QQihZ017QQcategoryZ6431QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

The guy claims it was imported from germany when a german brought it over to live in the US. Although, I see no euro bumpers, and the FI system looks like the US version. He says it has carbs and FI, but I see no carbs. Also says that the fender mounted mirrors are origional.... sound fishy? oh, he also says its a 1.8 liter, what, did he put sleeves in the cylinders?

he also says it is a V engine config,

he OBVIOUSLY knows absolutely nothing about cars, and those fender mirrors are a huge thing for asians.

Wouldn't be the first lying ebayer Just ask the guy who sold me a rebuilt engine that had been sitting full of water ("piparts' on ebay)...

Anyway, that's a boring old early California smog car. Complete with air pump.

I think those fender mirrors were (still are?) required for cars in the Japanese Domestic Market.

Why that car would have them, I have no idea. Probably whoever owned it saw/drove an early Datsun and liked the fender mirrors for whatever reason and put 'em on.

Still, I agree, the seller obviously knows very little about the car and is trying to talk it up ('cause it's a Porsche, no doubt).

I don't know where he got the idea that it's 1.8 litre. He (correctly) states that it's 121 cu in displacement, but if he did the conversion, he'd find that comes to 2.0 litres.

As for the red-neck racing stripes - German? Please!

BTW the mess around the centre console wasn't caused by theives taking the radio, and what about the BS about his sick friend, yada yada...

I'm going to ask him if I can drive it back to Canada. It might need a new battery I'm guessing. It even comes with a free lawn on the hood.

but seriously no one will even take that car for free.

reading his description is too funny "he put a lot of money into this car", is that guy serious or what. That's not even a car anymore , just good for scrap metal.

tim, it looks better than the piece of shit you used to call a 924, and i be this one doesn't leak CO into the cab. What are you doing back here anyway, dont you have a piece of shit 944 now.

anyway, if the guy is truly trying to do his mate a favour and sell it, perhaps he doens't know all about it. and it doens't say weber carbies, it says weber fuel injection. still, its hard when people post stuff thats simply not true. whats a Racing 'Flex Torque Tube' Drive shaft. and unfortunately i dont believe 924's came with "Whale tails"

anyway, moving on i have better things to do than bag out bad ebay adds.

Never seen such a wreck on german roads.
it`s good for taking some parts off and then crush it.
The only part i have never seen before is the " BRA" thing. I like to have one for my car.

ok, enlarge the picture of the rear and you will see the registration on the plate ran out in 1994 . . . 2006 - 1994 = 12 years not "legally" running. SO, for 7 years someone ran the car illegally since it was parked there 5 years ago.

lol. I've listed things for people on ebay before, but I'm not stupid enough to not do even a little research on the item I am being asked to represent.

edit: is that a sartoga sunroof though?

Thats what I was wondering myself, maybe he should just throw the car away and sell the top if it is. He says its a "mirror" sunroof.

The least he could have done was spent 10 minutes washing the car. As for free I would give him 5 dollars for the RARE fender mirrors.
