Had a little bit of MDF laying around so I decided to have a go at doing something with the small cassette holder which holds next to FA.
I gave it a light coat of black paint to give an idea of what it would look like with some black vinyl stuck on.

It looks a bit awkward, maybe a smidge too tall? or the fact that its not blended in to the hump itself.

I think it'll look good/oem if finished.

Feels comfy- like resting the arm on a window.
I need to add to the sides to blend a little before vinyl

But if you read the posts it doesn't hold CD's. Looks real nice though.
Might do it in leather instead of vinyl.
Mine holds CD's, and while driving the arm is at the same height as the top of the gear stick and is more comfortable than I thought.
Early stages yet.

I hesitate to say this given Khal's and OOTB's altercation, but I don't like the look of it purely on aesthetic grounds (or the bright red seat covers for that matter...). I agree with Flosho's assessment.

But, it's your car, Ozzie and I defend your right to do with it as you please. The main thing is that you do a neat job and you're happy with it.

BTW - you mentioned CDs - make sure you list them on the "What music do you listen to" thread!

Actually the wife needs her CD's in there.
Me, usually dont have the music on or just have it down as background noise and rarely hear it or listen to it.
Funnily enough, always been that way.

Could you come up with a configuration that would let the CDs lie flat? This shouldn't be a big issue, just be creative.

I stuck with the same size and gave it a coating of vinyl after reshaping.
(And the seat covers are for protection while I work)
