Hey everyone, im new to the board and i have a few questions regarding an 87' 924s. Im going to be the second owner but it is in absolute pristine condition. Really low mileage, looks and functions like brand new. I am 16 years old an really into cars but i dont know a great deal about mechanics and whatnot. My dad has worked on cars so he would be able to help me out its just that i need some expert advice as to what i should and shouldnt do with the car. First thing, how much performance will i gain if i get a performance chip? What are the set backs of having one?(decreased fuel economy?) Also, I would like to get new wheels for the car. What are the biggest wheels I can get that would fit without modifications (length and width) Finally, how much power will i gain by removing the catalytic converter?
Thanks everyone, i know there are i lot of questions so if you dont want to answer all of them thats understandable. I just want to know what i should start doing. Brian |

Welcome to the board and to the joys of Porsche ownership.
7 x 17 inch wheels with 205/50 tires will fit with no mods.
The chips I've tried IMO are not worth the bother.
Leave the CAT on, Porsche makes good ones....
Before spending any money on upgrades make sure your car is up to date on it's maintenance.
Do some reading in this section about the very expensive "front end service". _________________ White 87 924S "Ghost"

18x8.5 turbo twist wheels fit, you just have to roll the front fenders. _________________ --Alex--
