Can the LSD trans be identified through any external features or stampings?
TIA

if the axle stubs (to which the half shafts attach) rotate in the same direction simultaneously, you have an LSD. If they rotate in opposite directions simultaneously, you have a plain jane transaxle. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

The serial number is on the center rib near the oil drain. Look for a /12 as the last digits for the LSD option. Not sure about your LSD snails, but I don't think PETA would like it _________________ 1980 931S

I have a bonafide snailshell LSD that I picked up from Jazzerpet a while ago. I'm fetching it from storage this weekend, so I'll snap some pix and post with the part numbers.
And no, it's not for sale _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

I might be convinced to sell my 80 931 LSD snailshell fresh from being rebuilt in March 2004 at a local Porsche racing shop for the amount I paid to have it rebuilt ($1510.41)....
It has been stored in our house (heated and air conditioned) ever since the day I picked it up. _________________ White 87 924S "Ghost"
