Can the LSD trans be identified through any external features or stampings?

TIA

PS, Oh yeah, here's the snail itself:

if the axle stubs (to which the half shafts attach) rotate in the same direction simultaneously, you have an LSD. If they rotate in opposite directions simultaneously, you have a plain jane transaxle.

The serial number is on the center rib near the oil drain. Look for a /12 as the last digits for the LSD option. Not sure about your LSD snails, but I don't think PETA would like it

I have a bonafide snailshell LSD that I picked up from Jazzerpet a while ago. I'm fetching it from storage this weekend, so I'll snap some pix and post with the part numbers.

And no, it's not for sale

I might be convinced to sell my 80 931 LSD snailshell fresh from being rebuilt in March 2004 at a local Porsche racing shop for the amount I paid to have it rebuilt ($1510.41)....

It has been stored in our house (heated and air conditioned) ever since the day I picked it up.
