Anyone know where to find the original "Headlight/flasher and low beam relay" on a 1981 931? I have read about the upgraded headlamp relay for the upgraded lights and I can only find a wire harness kit to rewire my system. With the upgraded relay can I install the relay in the original slot or not and will it have any ill effects on the stock headlights. The relay panel is currently jumpered for the headlamp and I have no low beams but have high beams. Have not been able to find the original relay on any online retail stores or autozone/checkers.

Arthur - that's the headlight motor relay. It's not for the lights themselves. We don't have a relay for the headlights - as drewnashty found his panel is just jumpered instead. Though I'm not sure if mine is even jumpered..I'd have to look. -But I know there is no relay - it would be in the bottom row, far left.

Drewnashty - Not sure what you're doing, but the wiring diagrams show that relay present up to years '79 or '80. Have you tried asking for a 1979 or earlier year "headlight dimmer relay" or "dimmer/headlight flasher relay"?

Just trying to get my damn low beams to work lol. In my Haynes it doesn't mention the years for that relay, so I had just assumed they all had the relay there. Would prefer not to mickey mouse it.

I'll check it out

You don't need it. I just had a look at mine - there's no relay in that spot, just a jumper between pins at the upper-left that correspond to the relay pins 56-56b. See the wiring diagram on Haynes pg. 293, it shows the relay missing at top-center above current tracks 16-18 (just above fuses 1 and 3 (btw check those fuses)).
If the fuses are ok, my next suspect would be the "dimmer/headlight flasher switch" on your steering column and shown at the bottom-left of page 293. Could also be a burnt-oxidized pin D17 on the back of the fuse-relay board.
