Boxster and Cayenne also paid for the Spyder RS program, and Carrera GT. Speaking of, did you see Sebring results? Ouch!

im "almost" a fan of the boxter based caymen , but its still missing a certain something imo. maybe its that camel hump or short nose..

If you drove a Cayman S your reservations about the styling would evaporate, possibly along with your spleen.

Have you seen the new 997 GT3? Beautiful. I think it's a 3.8L and it makes 415hp, NA!!! Say what you want, there's no legal street car around that can F#$% with that. Not at that price, anyway.

actually, i saw one earlier in the week, the new GT3/RS version in that mustard color. to be honest, i wasn't very impressed with the looks, though it is nicer than the rest of the modern pack i think. what i was impressed with, was the "growl" the driver down shifted while hitting the exit off I -95 , then goosed it a bit, and it sounded, well, marvelous... gave me a chill even..
id like to take one for a spin, with performance like that, i dont care what it looks like...

I remember that I didnt like the bodystyling of a 924 but when I bought one it growd on me and today it is one of the most beautyful cars ever made So I can not say that I dont like boxters at all, if I owned one I am sure I would like this car very much. BTW Porsche has made an offer to Volkswagen for buying most of their shares. Any way the first car Ferry designed was a Volkswagen so it seams reasonable way to go.

I don't care what a Porsche looks like, they all give me a grin right about 5500 rpms and WOT.

Akchully, Ferrys' father Ferdinand designed the VW Beetle and his first was before that - this electric hybrid -

Ferry, I think was credited with the 356? Then along came Ferrys' son F.A. "Butzi" Porsche who was credited with designing the 911.
Of course get your Porsche history and links from this 931 Tech thread titled "Recirc valve plumbing" - http://www.924board.org/viewtopic.php?t=16742&start=7

The 924 was designed by Harm Lagaay (w/more links) - http://www.924board.org/viewtopic.php?t=10576

And the Boxster was designed by Grant Larson an alumni of the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design.
