Shortversion: will 8x16" ET 27 fit in the rear on 1982 924na 4-bolt?
Longversion:
I got hold of some "Wheel-A-Dapt" wheel adapters wich where modidified to be hub centric for 924. They adapts 4x108 to 5x130 and are 1" thick (25.4 mm).
I have now found some "Design 90" wheels from a 1990 964 C4 for sale rather cheap.
Front: 6x16 offset: 52
Rear: 8x16 offset: 52
Using the adapters will give me about 27 mm offset on the wheels (52 - 25.4).
The front will therefore extend 7 mm outwards and increase inner clearance by 7 mm, so I think the front will be fine.
But the rears will extend 32 mm outwards, wich I think would be about a perfect match for filling up the wheelarch, but they will also extend 18 mm on the inside (decrease clearance), so my question is will that fit, or will they rub on the inside? _________________ 1982 Porsche 924 na My 924 blog

While you're waiting around for a more useful reply...
Try a "Search for all terms" on wheel offset spacer - that should bring back 23 topics, most of which have relevant information. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."

They are in the mail, but I hope to recieve them at the end of the week.
But, yes they look very much like that.
The seller used them on a 79' 924 na with 6J 15 OEM Fuchs wheels from a 1973 911 using 225/60 15 tires without any rubbing.
Got a little trouble on my webserver at the moment, so the pic might not show, but here they are (pic from the seller):

Should be perfect with those 16", and you can always space them out a few mm if it gets too tight on the inside.
I glued on GT flares and need to get the wheels spaced out, but the offset on the 4x108 wheels needs 40mm spacers and I do not think the bearings would last long using those.
A lot more options with 5x130, and better looking as well. Adapters will be the next best, until a donor car for a conversion is afordable.
The adaptors are hard to come across, usually only 4x100 to 5x130 or 4x108 to 5x114.3 are awailable, and many clames that 4x108 to 5x130 is not possible either. No wonder as you can tell by 356speedster picture that 4 of the lugs are not excactly standard lugs... _________________ -=Torro=- |
