Katrina- yes
Rednecks- sometimes
Miami- yes

the rest was exaggerated.. greatly at times.. but it was funny, mostly. allot of the trouble they got in, they asked for.. especially the Alabama bit.. insult nascar in the south is like insulting the queen, but worse... only bad things can happen if you do it..

the track they were at isnt far from me, and yes it does actually have right turns

Remember Top Gear is entertianment involving cars only and must be treated as such. Quite a bit of it is staged or just plain silly, but its entertaining

Find the amphibious cars episode for a prime example...

Well Im boycotting - once again they've attacked things near and dear to our hearts. Earlier it was the cheap Porsches, now our 150hp American high performance muscle cars, our beloved gun culture, trailer hitch mounted swing-out barbeque grills, our highly resourceful problem-solving truckers ("lorry drivers"), innocent and equally resourceful rednecks just defending their way of life, etc. The comments about the jacket found in the trunk were especially discourteous - that cars' previous owner may not have killed someone, stuffed them in the trunk and left the victims' jacket there. For all they know that jacket might have belonged to the driver (who had been carjacked, his gun/s and cigars stolen, and the unfortunate soul tied up, gagged, and dumped still live in a gator infested swamp or creek - possibly the one right there at Moroso motorsports park).

Git 'chur grills here -

I think they get angry because some schmuck with a camera who's trying to get ratings for their tv show goes out of their way to show someone else in the worst possible light and then it's watched by people in other countries, who assume that it's the truth and post messages on boards asking if it's real.

Happens every single day here in the US.

You know that Borat was just a movie for entertainment too, right?

Either that or they were in-bred, red-neck hicks...

I know you have to take anything on Top Gear with a huge pinch of salt, but I don't think that part was staged. It was genuinely scary.

Did I hear a banjo just then?

Watch it, I grew up in the hills, and was using a rifle by age seven to put somethng in the pot for dinner. You should see the pattern I can group at 600 yards with my varmit rifle....

Had those guys shown up on our mountain, they may have never been seen again. (they got lost somewhere). Only kidding, we always treated strangers very well.....
