|
|
I decided to try out some LED brake, parking, and reverse lights (turn indicators require new flasher can and I wanted to check the regular stuff first). I got the largest replacements and am so disappointed in them I've taken them out already - they were in for about 30 seconds... The existing bulbs are so much better. I got the type with LEDs around the side as well that supposedly provide a wider spread of light - man the ones without side LEDs must totally suck...
Nice way to p1ss some beer money up the wall...

Purchased from "virtualvillage-au" on Ebay...
They are probably 75% the brightness of existing old-skool bulbs... and poorly made - the little tangs either side which lock the bulb in-place weren't 180° apart - so an arse to fit into the bulb holder...
The ones on Autodirect do look significantly more interesting, but over twice the price - but I guess if they work...
For me, I think I'll stay with bulbs... unless someone wants to buy mine off me...

Thanks for the additional information. Sorry it was a bust, I've been wondering about some of the lights that are available so this was helpful.
I might try these from AutoDirect once I muster the cash, I'll be sure to pay a bit more attention to it outside of just swapping them out and running off.

I installed the left side only, then lit it all up and took a look... it was clear as a bell which side was brighter... would recommend a similar approach before "running off"

Great - thanks again for the info and tip. It will be a few weeks before I give this a shot - I'll post my findings.
