| Picked up an 88 944 today. 105,000 miles. One lady owner. Full and complete service history. Belts changed on schedule. Only 1100 miles in the last 6 years. Mostly just garaged. Belts done not long before she moved to present location and stopped driving it much. She now commutes by ferry and bus. Do I really need to have the belts changed or can I drive it till I hit 120,000 when it normally would be scheduled next? |

Six years is way past replacement. The engine is living on borrowed time if you continue to drive on them.
Rubber rots whether you use the car or not. Just like the tires, the belts need to be replaced on time and on schedule if you expect to have a reliable car. |
