I don't understand the question.

Do you want your headlights down and your high beams on, or is that a problem you're having?

As for the picture, I think most people would call those lights driving lights.

I think we're still missing each other.

In the picture, the head lights are down and the driving lights are on and the high beams are off. {If the high beams are on in the picture, they would be pointing directly at the ground.

You're two posts describe two different things.

Do you want your driving lights {like in the photo above} to be off while you pop your head lights up {which would turn on your low beams}, then turn your high beams on?

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

The lights you see in the pic (in the bumper!) are here in europe parking-lights and (when you pull the switch on the right) highbeams. If youre headlights are popped up they also have two functions, drivinglight and highbeam at the same time. When the lights in the pic are so bright like they are, the highbeams are activated.

(Mann, englisch ist doch manchmal schwer !)

Hum, the lights in the bumper on my euro car are called driving lights in the book but I'd call them fog lights. So do the police! Mine only come on when the headlamps are raised.

the fog-lights or driving lights only came on when the pop-up lights are UP and ON and the HIGH BEAM is selected(full light power)

In other cases when the pop-up lights are up and on but only low-beam is selected the driving lights/fog lamps only have a small bulb runing...not the halogens.

what Nobbi wants is his car to look like the one in the picture. The pop-up lights OFF and DOWN and the bumper lights ON.

Nobbi thats not realy that cool if you ask me....its not porsche like. my car looks very very nice with the pop-up lights raised and on yours should look nice to

nobbi, don't give up on it if you like that look if it's what you want.

why should not having the lights up be "rice"? i love everything about the car except those headlights that stick up so far (and they're probably not the most aerodynamic) hence the carera lights...

you certainly can drive with the lights in the bumper on full if you mod the electrics (I can't tell you how) and if it isn't totally dark. not a good idea to drive without the flips if it is totally dark as the bumper lights don't light far enough ahead.

personal preference, but i very rarely have the flip lights up on the 944, i use the lowerlights. i think the flip lights date the car and look a bit naff (okay, i'm going to hide)

wow, this post makes me dizzy..
okay, in my 931 (with euro bumper and fog / driving lights) i have it wired this way:

parking lights off: flash to pass in driving lights only (though the main headlights may also flash, but they are in the down position.)
parking lights on (headlight switch pos 1): pop up headlights remain down (rewired) , fog light pos 1 : driving lights, fog light pos 2 : fog.high beams

headlight switch pos 2: lights pop up, everything on, fog lights on or off depending on switch position. flash to pass enabled on main headlights and driving lights...

my fogs have two bulbs each, one for "driving/parking" one for bright lights. since my car is a us version and did not come prewired, i had to rewire everything to get it to work in this configuration. i have a circuit diagram someplace and ill look for it , as its been a long time since i completed that project.

This combination is illegal in most countries. It is in the UK.

I'd be surprised you could get away with it in Germany, Nobbi!

No need to hide, Chris. I'm with you all the way on that score!

Huhh, never tought this couldt turn out this way...

Parking lights means (Euro Car): You park along the road or where ever, take the keys out of the ignition-lock,and...set the turn-signal-indicator to the left (down) or right (up).
If you step out, you can see one side illuminated(front and back)left or right.(Headlights not popped up!)

Indicator lights are both sides on, light switch first position.
Headlights on, second position
Highbeams on, pull at wiper-switch. There are no fog-lights in my car, exept the two rear ones.

I knew that porsche mech.used a cable to bridge the white plug close to the headlight-motor, but i dont know which connections.

and.... off course its not legal.

Under what conditions do you want the driving lights on and what conditions do you want them off?

If you want them on all the time, just connect them to the battery!
