Try a web search on something like "window tint film procedure". There're procedures floating around out there that use dryer anti-static sheets and a heat gun to pre-form the film to the shape of the window. That would be especially useful on the rear window. Basically, they have you wipe the window with a wet dryer sheet - this leaves a fine powder that the window film can float on. Then lay a large section of window film over it, taped in just a couple spots top and bottom, then use the heat gun to shrink the film in places to make it conform to the shape of the window. Then you peel off the clear film backing and apply it to the inside of the window in the usual way with soapy water and a squeegee.

there was a dude on ebay pitching these recently, even claimed to have a precut rear hatch tint in one piece.. even if he did, its unlikely it would go on correctly. 924, 944, and 968 all have the same window dimensions.
its not that difficult to cut the tint yourself, especially the side front and 1/4 windows.. i dont think id try the hatch in less than three pieces though.. well i might try, but ..... and itll probably be cheaper if you D.I.Y.

i took my car to a tint shop. they were surprised they were able to do the rear hatch with 3 sheets. all they did was b*tch about how hard it was when i picked up my car. its already bubbling.

I just had my 924 done this summer and they got the rear glass done in 2 pieces. The dude did want to shoot himself after he saw how much time he had into it, and that he had to honor his original qoute. I paid $150 for the whole car and the rear glass especially looks awesome. I definitely got the better end of the deal.

Did he end up taking of the rear hatch to make his life easier?

Was this just a run of the mill tint guy or is he a specialist? I ask because I was told that the rear hatch would be a HUGE pain in the rump, I can see it being one too.

Do you have a photo of the job? Did you watch him do it?

It was from a very reputable place and the guy had been doing it for 15 yrs. I wouldn't have been able to find the seam if he didn't show me exactly where it was. He did an awesome job though. The seam runs parallel with one of the lines for the rear defroster. I can take pics if you want to see.

If you could take a few pictures of the "hard" areas that would be great.

I want to tint my rear hatch glass and I want to show the person doing it what I want exactly.

Thanks for the help.

no problem. I don't have my camera today and the 924 is at my other house. I should be able to get some for you tomorrow. You just really need some shots of the rear hatch, right?

Neil-
I have the pics in my camera, but my son stole my usb cable, (little shit). I'll get another one today and get you the pics. Looking at them now on the camera, it's hard to see the seam but I'll send them anyways and show you. Should have them tomorrow.
