I found some bushings for the control arm on ebay I wondered if these looked like the correct ones to anyone who has purchased a set. They say they are but I haven't looked much for these but I will need to this winter. So any input would be greatly appreciated. they are on ebay item # 250178677726 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PORSCHE-924-control-arm-bushings-energy-suspension[url]
(I hope that's right)
thanks

I just bought a set for Red for $22 brand new at my local German speed shop. The brand was Prothane, and the parts were labeled as for "VW Golf/Rabbit I," meaning the first generation Rabbit.

Their website lists 4 locations in Ohio as vendors. I just looked at one of them, who also carry Energy for a price similar to that auction. The key is to get "Rabbit" instead of "Porsche."

Yeah dude, why else would I recommend? The control arms were sourced from the VW/Audi parts bin, and were also used on Wabbit Mark I (75-84).

Be prepared to run them to a machine shop for removal of the old ones. It is a major PITA. Also worthwhile to seam weld them, and have them powder coated while they are off.

Sorry Rasta, my brains not working too well today(?)

what will you need to seem weld?

Thanks

No press for the new ones. They slip in, but I did use a C-clamp to install the metal sleeve in the fronts.

Seam welding just runs a bead along the joint between the two pressed halves of the control arm (upper & lower) for added strength. Not sure if it is critical, but was recommended here, and should be cheap.
