thanks Nobbi.
I also checked PET and there seems to be only one water pump in there..
well monday or tuesday the pump(the one that came for the NA) goes onto the turbo engine. hope that the water pump is causing the deceleration sound/aluminium rattle. _________________ Supercharger and EFI kits

oh, one more thing...where does one hook up an oil temp gauge on the 924 turbo motor? _________________ Supercharger and EFI kits

That sounds more like a loose baffle in the exhast pipe to me... Nothing to worry about if you can put up with it.

I believe there is a blank tapping in the sump/oil pan for an oil temp sender _________________ 1985 Porsche 924 'Lux', Kalahari Beige (my ex)

ok thanks for the oil probe info.
the sound its not the exhaust...it comes from the lower front of the engine...i just hope its the water pump or the belt tensioner. I dont want to fnd out its a piston rod or something. Its an aliminium/metalic like rattle. lots of small bang sounds descresing in frequency with the engine rev going from 3k to 750rpm. sounds like some kind of bad bearing or some gear with the chain slipping teeth...ofcourse this is not the case as the 924 has no gear with chain on it...but the sound is similar to that.
the sound is not very easy to hear...i can only hear it when inspecting the enginebay. from the car its not audible. _________________ Supercharger and EFI kits
