Would it not be easier just to drop the suspension?

When I changed the torque tube (Pilot bearing failed and ate my propshaft) the whole rear suspension came out without too much of a fight.

Looks a damn sight easier than tapping a super hard torsion bar and cutting the bodywork!

well takes about 15 minutes to drill and tap the one t bar , the orginal early cars had the holes in rocker panel , once the first t bar change is done you can change ride height in a few minutes you can also change the spring rate at will ,at the track if you so desire , for those who are going to delron bushings it is still very nice to be able to make adjustments this way . With the delron bushings in the carrieer it is even easier ,Lawerance changed his ride height 3 times in 15 minutes by himself I was in shop doing something else. Of course this was on race car that had everything new , bolts nuts etc, no rust , Our first experience in removing entire rear suspensionwas on 924 s from west va salted very well , and this involved a lot of rust remover and a very large compressor with air gun , and took us forever and ever. This is just a simple way for your track or street track car to have nice spring rate in rear , you can borrow some tbars and try them out , . Another point is that a friend is front runner in 944 cup is still driving stock rear bushings now that he is hoping to finish first next year instead of second overall for the season; he is going to the hard bushings until you need the tenths of seconds the stock bushings will do well , on a street or street track car they give a much better ride
