it seems that within the month that i stored my car, the oil has leaked from full to low.
as of now, i am unable to get underneath my car.
but where are the common places the 924s engine leaks oil?
thanks
also, would anyone recommend the K&N oil filter from paragon? _________________ 1987 Porsche 924S Black/Black. 5-spd.

You mean you lost over a quart while it was parked?
That don't sound right. _________________ Toofah King Bad

You didn't have it "serviced" at Jiffy Lube just before it was parked, did you?
My best guess would be a loose oil sump plug, or possibly even a cracked sump?.. I don't think you have anyplace else in the engine that holds enough oil to leak a full quart while it's not running.
My take on the K&N oil filters is you're paying a bunch more for marketing (paying more for their name). If I'm remembering right, they were about twice the price of the equivalent sized Bosch Premium filters, last time I was looking at filters about 2 months ago. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. It would really help if you found the pool of lost oil. _________________ 87 924s

I have not ever taken the car to jiffy lube. if fluids need change, is me who is doing the work. though the previous owner did take the car to jiffy lube for oil changes.
the car ran perfectly before i parked it. it still runs fine. just would like the sound sleep of knowing my car isn't leaky. _________________ 1987 Porsche 924S Black/Black. 5-spd.

Lay some cardboard down in your garage. Park over it. If you cant look under to see where the oil spot is, then make a marking on the cardboard where the front bumper is, and move the car. Then measure back to the spot to find out how far it is. Put the car on jackstands or a lift, and take the same measurement back to the spot. You should then be able to see where there has been dripping. That much oil loss should be easy to find. _________________ 87 924s

If the car is parked on concrete, a quart of oil would have spread to at least a 3 to 5 foot circle by now. _________________ White 87 924S "Ghost"

the problem is that the car is parked in a spot on my driveway where the oil leaks into the earth, lol
i will run this little test in about a few weeks when i return to my car back home. i appreciate the input and advice! _________________ 1987 Porsche 924S Black/Black. 5-spd.
