Anyone ever hear anything about the regular antifreeze eating up aluminum metal eg. the head? Supposedly there is a product called dexcool that does the same thing as antifreeze but it won't eat up aluminum metal. I doubt that the green stuff does anything bad to aluminum but just thought I'd get some other input on this and see if anyone thought otherwise.

DONT MIX the two but if you flush out your system COMPPLETLY Dexcool can have benefits that the "green stuff" cant provide. Read the labels though. If you mix the two they become acidic and then they eat through your radiator and alumn. head nad hoses (lots of fun!!)

I use Saturn antifreeze. Phosphate free just like Porsche wants and easy on the wallet.

Just wondering if Dex-Cool is safe to run in our cars. I have heard some rumors of it attacking gaskets but that could be HS. Anybody here running DEX COOL in their 924 or 944?
