|
|
This may be a silly question, maybe not. Not quite sure yet.
But basicially, I'm wondering if i put the right distributor rotor in my 77 924, and if it even is a big deal or not.
In the diagrams, it shows Bosch 055 905 225 B, as being the correct distributor rotor. The old one that was in my car, that i replaced was Bosch 1234332215. The one I put in was a Bosch 1234332300.
It seems to fit, and work fine, but they do look a little different. I am wondering if I put the right one in my car, or if it even really matters.
I have tried to research this online, but have found no real answers.
Any help would be much appreciated. _________________ 77 Porsche 928 Martini & Rossi Championship Edition |

what looks different? Some rotors have a small fuse wire in the middle so it melts if it overheats to prevent issues. Others don't. Some are taller, sometimes the reach is further out, etc.
Do you have any pictures? I tried to look online but I couldn't see anything or find anything that provided any technical data. _________________ - 1977 Porsche 924 2.0 N/A (Trackday Project)

| One nice thing about the 924 is that many parts are common to other cars. The distributor and rotor are common to many cars, including my great '72 capri, ford pintos, VWs, and god knows what else. You can pick up caps and rotors at any parts store. I've bought Bosch, but I checked my garage and I've used Duralast and Wells that have the number RB912. I tend to buy a new cap and rotor of the same manufacturer rather than clean the old ones. Spraying silicon lube on the inside of the cap is a good idea, but other than that I don't worry much about that part of the car. Hope this is helpful - Peter |
