I read about this on the mittlemotor site, looks really pretty. Although financially sensible mostly for historic rally and racing cars, pretty expensive for a hobby car. But a good indication of what to expect with a good ported (15hp) head as only modification.

The gain was expected but it is ridiculously expensive. _________________ Carl Fredrik Torkildsen

2-3 k euros for a complete head might not be that crazy if you build an historic rally car for 10-20k eur. But for a regular enthusiast its a lot of cash. Mittlemotor seems though to have a high price strategy in most areas _________________ 1980 924 Turbo

Article not found...
I would buy the head if it was 16v head made of new billet and without water/oil channels through head gasket but rather via hoses outside the head. _________________ '83 924 2.6 16v Turbo, 470hp

Most of that would not be allowed for historics... _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

And thus have a microscopic target audience..
Interesting that they took it down from the website so fast, I wonder why... _________________ 1980 924 Turbo

You can see the cylinder head in their webshop.
1750 euros. Ready to bolt on.
You can also send in your own head and they do the porting for 700 euros! That is a very good price actually. _________________ Our 1983 Porsche 924 project: http://www.924board.org/viewtopic.php?p=364034#364034 |

1750 EUROS For a brand new head all setup and ready to go for racing? Sounds like a bargain. If I was doing a motor from scratch I would seriously consider it. _________________ Over the top of skyline, total brake failure.... hit the wall at over 200 kp/h at the dipper, so anyone who has to brake for the esses is a pussy.

Is it a complete head with cam, valves, and everything? If so, killer deal.. _________________ 80 Turbo - Slightly Modified |

Big valve head with hard-faced cam and all the labor here is about $2600 all-in. For only $1K more you get brand new head and cam? Doesn't seem unreasonable to me. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

You can always send your old head for them to do the trick on it and then its much cheaper. Especially for the turbo head...and if you own a GT/GTS 3k is not a problem. _________________ Supercharger and EFI kits

1750 that was the price in the webshop is now updated to 2095 eur as in their news page. My interpretation is that that is complete with new valves in standard size.
The prices gegge is refering to is with racing cam and lightweight tappets?
Any one else that can clear this up, preferably with more german skills than me ? _________________ 1980 924 Turbo
