okay so as u guyz know im restoring my old 1980 924 na, painting is black just keepin it stock other than that..
anyways...
i started the car up after rebuilding the head, replacing all the old hoses, belts and tiny parts that matter and are hard to find as u 924 owners know.
it cranked around and finally started up the second time and the idle is rough, about 2000 rpm and starves for gas when u rev it but i didnt rev it
much, its nothing to do with the idle spring or throttle i checked that for sure, but im prolly guessing its a bad fuel injector seal because when i spray gas on each injector the idle dropped and its doin it to all 4 injectors. what do you guyz think? i ordeded the seals already just in case....
i cant wait till my porsche is ready!
she look ugly right now but wait till im done wit her!

Find and fix all the vacuum leaks before looking for anything else. The air flow meter relies on a airtight seal form the egine to the meter, without it it will do odd things and wil barely run. _________________ 1994 Lotus Esprit S4 - Work in progress...

Injector seals and injector bungs then.
Then you need to tune the K-jet, its not hard with the right kit, description is in the Haynes manual. _________________ 1994 Lotus Esprit S4 - Work in progress...

Make sure you have everything lined up correctly, i.e. crank at TDC when cam gear is on cam mark, and distributor rotor pointing to #1, spark plug wires routed correctly. Idle dropping tells me that there might be some vacuum leak happening. If you dont have or are unwilling to buy eqipment to test fuel pressure & CO content of exhaust and such you can sketch in the mixture by looking at the spark plugs (black too rich, white too lean, tan OK). But you have to adjust it when the engine is OFF, at the fuel distributor with a 3mm allen key. & good luck. _________________ 1977.5 924 "Martini" head / New Old Stock rebuild

well the idle only drops when i spray something on top of the injector such as brake cleaner or starter fluid, im pretty sure the seal got #### up when i was putting the head back on. but im sure there is no vacuum leaks, and i think i do need to do some mixture adjusting but well all see tomorow when i get my parts _________________ 80' Porsche 924 NA - Slower then a S L O W
