I just got a set of wheels off of an early 944 (getting wheel locks off was kinda tricky). They're clearcoated aluminum on the outside with black spokes (Fuchs style, I guess). However, what's weird, is that they're not 16 inches like the ones I heard about. They have 15 inch 215 wide tires on them, which implies that they're 15 inches; furthermore, they all have 7j-15 marks on the back.
Did I just pay 200 bucks for a set of cheap knockoffs? Also, they (obviously) stick out from under my fenders, especially upfront. Should I start looking for wider fenders, or should I just forget about it and go back to factory basketweave? The tires are really nice for junkyard tires, though, still had "hair" on them. _________________ 1982 924 Turbo, now Lemon |

If they are genuine, they'll have a Porsche part number cast into them on the inboard side.
But yes, Fuchs came in 15. . .the first ones were 14"! _________________ Toofah King Bad
