What is the story on all red rear lights.

I have seen a few pictures on here of owners that have all read rear lights, like these currently on ebay - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280245635861&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:Watchlink:middle:uk (Item number: 280245635861). Are these a factory item, or an aftermarket thing? I really like the look, but want to know if the price given on this ebay auction is normal or inflated?
Where else can I get these from?

aftermarket. if you search the pelicanparts or rennlist forums for them, you'll see they just used a can of red spraypaint designed for colouring clear plastics, like for scale models.
