I notice that there are a few 928 owners on this board.I'm wondering if there is a common place on the web, that you guys hang out,and shoot the shit about your land sharks.
I googled it a little, and did'nt find anything that was set-up like this forum,or anything that had very much recent Activity. But I did'nt put much effort into my search,as I figured I should ask around a little, before I joined a forum, and started asking dumb questions.
Of coarse I don't own a 928.What I am interested in,is information regarding the 928 automatic transaxle.I'm looking for all the info I can find about the 3 and 4 speed autos.Technical specs, drawings, pics of the propshaft and axles, bolt patterens and ect.
It would be great to find a 928 auto guru on this board, that would be willing to help me. As you may already be familiar with my project, and save me the embarrassment of describing it to another mass of people.
Thanks,

Chad,
Sounds like you need a WSM for the 928. New hard copy sets are scarce. If you go to the 928 forum at Rennlist (link above) and do a search on WSM or Jim Morehouse, you will find that he publishes a searchable PDF version of the WSM at a very reasonable price. Also, IIRC www.928intl.com still has a set (9 volumes) in stock.

Chad, rennlist is the biggest gathering, but you cannot list things for sale/wanted unless you pay for a membership.
as well some of those guys are snippity at times.
you can also check out the pelican boards, among others.
I do agree with getting the PDF version of the WSM so that you can print off the pages you need and use them. _________________ 3 928s, |

I would also encourage you to join the 928 owner's club. David Lloyd, who is a past president and current membership chairperson, is a top notch guy, very approachable, not "snippety" at all, and has been a valuable resource for me. Also, our local chapter here in the Detroit area is fairly active, and seems to be a nice bunch. I've not been able to interact or join their activities as much as I'd like due to a busy personal life, but I've heard of timing belt parties and other such camaraderie. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

Yes sir! A Getrag-style 5-speed. It's going to need to be pulled at some point to have the synchros addressed (1st & 2nd), but it's drivable for now as long as you're careful with upshifting to 2nd. Of course, considering I have two 1980 931's with the snail shell, I'm very accustomed to the 1st and 2nd gear sensitivities!!! _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |
