Before you start laughing, there is a 1980 931 automatic at the Mecum auction in Denver in late June. The pictures look pretty good and supposedly 68k miles. How hard would it be to convert it to a manual transmission? I have and early 944 torque tube and 5 speed and a 931 flywheel(don't know if S1 or S2). If the price was right I'm thinking I would just need the complete clutch setup and possibly a starter to make it work along with possibly a bell housing.

I got a short drive in a Factory Five Cobra with merely a 325 hp Mustang 5.0 motor the other day-- Oh my. There is nothing like torque and a power to weight ratio of about 8 or 9-1. Not being a really fancied up version it was quite uncivilized with no top, heater or any amenities.

I'm pretty sure no such animal ever existed unless someone ruined a perfectly good car.

Relax, all right? My old man is a television repairman, he's got this ultimate set of tools. I can fix it.

Thanks, it is then the one posted on craigslist locally for a rather extravagant price. I may bid on it but the reserve will probably be more than I am willing to spend.

I have seen quite a few 931s in the Denver area exactly like that. All were white with that interior & 4 lug wheels.
I can tell they weren't the same cars because of a few "tells". The dealer in that area must've liked that combo.
