Hello everyone,

Name's Loki. I'm from Washington state U.S. and I just got my first porsche.
She's a orange 1977 924 with all the decals. I call her my VW #542 until I come up with a name.

She's the beauty to my beast. (a primer black 81 vw rabbit) and I am looking forward to reading all the info here and sharing my applicable VW info.

The haynes manual is in the mail and my fuse block is a nightmare of corrosion and loose connections, not to mention A P.O. seems to have hack jobbed some portions of my harness. I drove her home, so we'll see what i takes to get it legal and all.

Has anyone here put a aftermarket fuse box in, like one from painless wiring?.... I may go that rout.

Anyway, hello again, and pics of my project 542 to come.

Thanks Corsepervita!

Here's a few snap shots of my new project. Maybe someone can help me identify the package, the decals don't seem to be common.

These are the odd decals....anyone????

And here is my current and first major headache with the car....

I'm linking it because it's a huge image and a small one doesn't do it justice.

WOW

Your car has a graphics package that looks remarkably similar to this 931 I just saw for sale in MI the other day...(clicky):

Welcome to the club Loki
I don't think the decals mean anything, might even be dealer add on stuff.

I'm pretty sure the ones in the Craigslist ad are knock-offs of the genuine Porsche article...they might even be Sparky-specials.

Where is Sparky, anyway???? Haven't heard from him in AGES...

Hopefully they're just having a nice summer in Malta although I hope it's not slowing down the decals I ordered for the new car

Thanks guys.

Yeah, they do look a lot like the ones on the 931 but my numbers are not inverse cut like those. *shrugs*

Probably from the dealership as you speculated.

Now to get it running again with lights and some new rubber....
