Got a chance to drive the LS1 (Small Block Chevy) equipped 944 on eBay yesterday... very interesting... clearly the chassis has NO problems handling the extra power! Didn't come away wishing I were doing that to my car, though - think I'll be perfectly happy with my hot-rodded turbo with slightly less hp but less weight as well. To be sure, it could stand to have a better tune, which should be a straightforward matter of some tuning time on a dyno with someone who can flash the ECU...

Looking at the ebay listing, looks like this car should be going to Edmonton, if the buyer can sort out the shipping - so Edmonton guys, keep your eyes out!

What tracks do you have up there, anyway??

All we have locally is a dragstrip. Calgary, a couple of hours down the road has a paved road course.

Calgary's road course is being closed next year, it is on city land and apparently the city has other plans for it. Edmonton does have a very small road course, sort of an overgrown cart course, still fun though:
