I have tons of 924 and 931 parts in my garage. Few days ago a friend and me talked about building a 924 GTR spec engine... Both my friend and me knows itīs not a cheap engine build, but with a tons off parts and good spirit we thought, why not....
But we need a complete spec list and parts list.....
So if anyone have a complete list and pictures, please email me...
The plan is to collect parts one more year, to my 931 twinturbo project are finshed. Then start on a 924 CGTR replica...

That means you should start collecting 2.5L turbo parts.. Not gonna be cheap. The motor budget will be twice what you've sunk into your entire 931TT project. _________________ [This Space For Rent] |

You probably are correct.
GT, GTR, GTS, GTP...
I thought the GTR had the 2.5, my bad. I'll enjoy your build though. _________________ [This Space For Rent] |

This is the only pic I could find. I have no idea where it's from or if it is from a factory car.

Peter,
Yes, that is the factory engine, whereas Peter Uzon's pictures are of a home brew version, albeit with a couple of factory GTR parts.
FWIW, don't even think about trying to build a replica GTR engine. Firstly, the parts were made in such small quantities, they will be pretty much unavailable now, or if they are available, at a cost that would make you faint. I have a friend who campaigns an FIA accredited 911, and the mechanical fuel injection pump alone costs thousands . Secondly, with the advances in modern electronics, you can build an engine that will meet the GTR's power levels much more reliably. There are a few here who have done this, like myself, Joakim ect.
So if historically correct is your goal, good luck, i hope you are fantastically wealthy. If power is your goal, let the search function be your friend.

Hey Bass gt...
It`s no problem to make an engine with the same power, but thatīs not the same fun...
I know that it would cost a lot of money, but my goal is to make it so close i can to the orginal engine. So it donīt need to be 100% correct... But close...
I need the part list so i can part out what i can buy, what i have to make and whatīs impossible to get hold on.... _________________ 911 Targa 1974 Turbolook/Outlaw

To be historically correct, you'll need something like this (intercooler):

No, this is the exact original end-tank layout of the GTR intercooler. Peter Utzon used to have a pic of the conplete GTR engine together with intercooler on his site but no more.
I could make you one if you find the core. I bought the core from Dan (ideola). _________________ '83 924 2.6 16v Turbo, 470hp
