| Obviously the 944 was sick, or the 944 driver an Idiot. |

I doubt the 944 was running poorly, but the driver did make a rookie mistake.
When he encountered wheel spin he shifted into 2nd as the revs increased instead of backing off the throttle and letting the tires catch and then going up into speed and shifting. He probably shifted into second around 15-20 mph which caused it to bog second.
I know this because I did the exact same thing the first time I raced my car at the track.. ahah. _________________ [This Space For Rent] |

Light 125hp euro 924 vs. heavy 150hp US 944. No big surprise. _________________ Mikko

Heavy 143HP 944... not sure why the 150hp number has stuck when quoting 944 hp. _________________ 1981 931 GT (CGT Intercooled)

Hey, I couldn't remember what were the official power numbers for the US version, even though I have owned one! Basic euro 944 has 163hp.
I have owned a US 944 with CO3 option code, that is a California version (143hp). Imported from the middle east as a tax free car by a finnish UN soldier. Rather than the power figures, I can remember one thing: It was a bit slow 944. Well it had AC, leather etc. (heavy). I still liked it a lot. _________________ Mikko

Yeah I know about F2 and seen a lot of his movies, but I didn't know if that was his car or not. Yes it is a old movie, but it was just posted 4 months ago.
My fav. movie is this one:

and the one morghen posted :sad day for rubber , Makes me wish I had an LSD in my car, but then.... maybe it's good that I don't because I shouldn't beat on a 22 yr old car. _________________ White 1987 Porsche 924S manual |

Euro 125hp 924 vs US 150hp 944. As US 944 and early 924S had 110 kW, in Europe it translates to 150 hp (multiply by 1,36). That's why.
And in case US board members didn't know, that is the exact speed difference between real 924 and US 944. _________________ '83 924 2.6 16v Turbo, 470hp
