I have weld on brackets for a rear sway bar and I'm looking for the correct position to weld them on to the TB carrier tube. The best dimension I can see is to measure from the flat side of the trailing arm bracket to the centerline of the torsion bar. As you roll the bar and brackets around the carrier tube the distance changes. If someone has their car up in the air and could make that measurement I would greatly appreciate it. It ought to be near 1" or something close to that. Thanks in advance.

These pix might be useful. My buddy Jeff welding the brackets onto the torsion carrier that was destined for SONIC.

If the suspension is still in, it would be useful to bolt everything up on the car, to make sure your placement doesn't cause the bar to hit the exhaust.

When it looks good, mark the bracket position with a paint stick.

Zzzzzzzzzzt!

Rasta- The suspension is out on the ground, that is why I'm looking for the offset distance from the trailing arm flange.

Thanks for the pictures Dan, on my brackets from Sunset Porsche the center section misses the tube by about 1/8" and I didn't like the look of that, just welding the feet. A little fit adjustment required.

Yes, there's not much effort required, you can see how my welder tacked them in the middle and on both feet.

Yep, if it is lifted off the tube, it will hit the exhaust. . .must lay all the way down.
