Hi
I am not really great with working on my car.
I have a Porsche 924s 1987.
Parking Brake will not engage, in the center console will not engage when I pull it up when I park my car.
Thanks you. |

If you are saying that the handle does not click, and will not stay up, then it need grease on the ratchet axles and teeth.
If you are saying that when you pull the handle up, it stays up, but the parking brake does not hold the car, then the cables need to be adjusted, or the parking brake shoes are worn out.
The car has small drum brakes in each rear wheel that are actuated by the parking brake handle. The brake shoes almost never wear out, unless you drive around with the parking brake on by accident. The parking brake shoes are expensive ($80-$100) exchange (more expensive than the front and rear brake bads combined). |

The Emergency Brake on my 79 is loose and wobble when in position. Anyone have a fix on this? _________________ 1979 Porsche 924- Snailshell

924-931 e-brake levers are flimsy - they bend, then once bent, the pawl (clicking part) wears to one side and things go from bad to worse, and staightening generally doesn't work as cracks form where it was bent.
Try eBay or whatever for a used 944 lever. They're a direct bolt-in and built much stronger. -And were selling in the $25-$30 range when I got mine a few years ago..

Those would be for the front disk, rear drum, 4-bolt wheeled arrangement.
5-bolt (most 931, all 924S and 944, etc), has both disks and drums in the rear, and the drums are some oddball tiny little fellas - and $80 is about the best I've seen.
Jakkq - I believe any of them would fit. You could verify it yourself by checking part numbers on the PET parts list or on Pelicans' website. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."
