This morning she started up just fine. I gave some gas, and she dies. Start up again, and give gas, then dies. Always stays going after revving past 3 for a couple seconds... Just kept on rattling and then dying this morning no matter what. This hasn't happened before. It's rattled quite a bit upon startup before, but it's always turned over.
Yesterday I did a lot of interior work and electricals got moved around, but nothing unplugged or attached. _________________ 1979 Porsche 924- Snailshell

BUMP
It seems as though it is not getting enough gas? I just refueled and have only driven 103 miles since. I usualyl always refill at 130-150. Could this maybe be a fuel pump issue? I'll post a video here later and maybe you guys can notice something from it. _________________ 1979 Porsche 924- Snailshell

When is the last time you:
- Did a leakdown test on that CIS system for fuel pressure?
- Changed the fuel filter?
- Had the pump tested?
- Checked for vacuum leaks? (Such as the intake book, etc) _________________ - 1977 Porsche 924 2.0 N/A (Trackday Project)

I ordered a CIS Tester, still waiting for it to arrive. The fuel filter was replaced about 2 months ago. I haven't had the pump tested or inspected for vaccum leaks. _________________ 1979 Porsche 924- Snailshell

Quick inspection of your vacuum lines for any loose vacuum lines, and also checking to make sure the straps on your intake boot and other parts of your intake system are nice and air tight is an easy check and easy thing to do. Mine was running like ass in a can for a while, and all along I just had a loose intake boot.
If vacuum leaks are not present, fuel filter is replaced, moving on to test the pressure in the system is a good idea. Might be worth it to just check all your basics while you're under there. Pull the plugs, make sure no harm no foul. Never move onto the big guns and tools for testing without checking the basics first. _________________ - 1977 Porsche 924 2.0 N/A (Trackday Project)

Awesome. Thanks much for the information. I'll give it a go as soon as I get home. _________________ 1979 Porsche 924- Snailshell

Fixed!
Appearantly the rubber hose attached to the sensor plate mixture control unit was loose and appearantly air was getting in. I popped it off an re-fitted it, then tightened it down as much as possible. She started up better than ever, and seems to drive around a lot better as well!
I started a workblog, and am putting everything there. I'd love if some people subscribed! _________________ 1979 Porsche 924- Snailshell

I"ll subscribe if you remove the tacky photo from your sig.
Notice you're the only one doing that? It's sort of an unspoken rule on this forum. It really slows down page loading when you're perusing the forum using a mobile device... _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |
