| Hi guys again i'm faced with a huge decision i'm currently not working so i have plently of time and a few bucks i need to get my current 931 out and in the street before the end of may .... my lease runs out then.... i've been working on the car for a few days and i still need some help and maybe some parts ... a friend of a friend is selling another 931 1980 5 lug running condition for 800 bucks i'm thinking, buy it for parts and keep it as a spare my wife is going to freak out that i will have two cars in the driveway but if i have one registered and on the street it won't be so bad what do you guys think i should do....the runner dosen't look to bad i will be taking a better look on thursday will keep you posted... thanks |

| o.k the current car is a 1980 also it was sitting for some time but indoors i bought all the parts to get her going except the starter that i may need from what the P.O said it ran fine the last time he drove it ...somewhere down the line it developed a clutch or shifting or linkage issue but i just want to get it running to start with so far i haven't tried to change the timing belt because a little intimidated buy this don't want to mess up this is why i've been asking for help maybe someone that has done it before can give me a hand i'd be willing to pay... but like i said i have all the parts i tried to turn it over just to make sure it runs before i sink a ton of money into her i know it's not recomended but i really need to know that there is nothing major that may prevent starting up it looks like the engine was rebuilt at one time the block is painted red the engine is very clean and unmolested i may need a starter when i turn the key i get nothing just afew lights ...put resh gas the p.o had filled the tank and put fuel stabiliser i put new battery checked all grounds and fuses that's where i am so far...like i said the other car is a runner i may be able to get it for less than the 800 i figured it would be good for parts my current 931 looks way better inside and outside the other looks beat but runs... |
