|
|
I've done this about 5 times now and I'm still not satisfied with the pick up point of the clutch. Before the cable end problems developed it grabbed about 1/2 way up the travel. Now with 2 new ends on the cable following the 1/4" adjustment method it picks up very near the top of the pedal. This is not conducive to easy heel toe downshifts.
I want the pedal to pick up where it did previously but I'm concerned with losing the pedal clearance and damaging the bearing.
I figure if I move the adjusting nuts lower on the cable adjustment this should move the pick up point.
How will I know when I'm putting pressure on the bearing all the time ?
Also I notice there is no slop at the top of the pedal. I always thought there was a little movement that didn't do anything.
Suggestions or ideas ?

I agree, I've found that with the factory adjustment point it's way too high.
I moved it a good bit lower on the racecar, and it's way better. Just move the upper and lower nuts.
How do you know if it's not still exerting some pressure? Well, it'll slip, right?
Mine's been fine so far over many seasons now, can't even remember how long it's been in there! I think there's plenty of room to play. _________________ Vaughan Scott
