Years, that takes years. One of my cars sat for 7 years and it wasn't that bad. Mine just smelled like varnish. and was dark, but not thick.

I've never seen gas that gooey, must have been bad (note cheap) gas as well as sitting for a very long time.

Looks like you will want to replace all your fuel lines.

What does it taste like?

Could be the 'ol sugah in the tank trick. Some say it doesn't break down in gas, acts more like sand clogging filters and such.

I would think over time, once the gas breaks down and moisture gets in there, it would break down like that.

Didn't Thothmes III drive a 924? Maybe it was Plutarch. Hmm... You're probably only a catalyst away from Greek fire.

Thutmose III reigned from 1479 BC to 1425 BC according to the Low Chronology of Ancient Egypt. Did petrol exist then? Sugar may have though Maybe the gas was added to the tank of sugar at a later date?

I dealt with worse... Cleaning tar out of the fuel lines on a 41 ford jeep(wish i never sold her). It had been siting in the california sun for 14 years. I was 3 when the head cracked and 17 when I restored it. That was years ago so maybe older "regular" gas breaks down faster???
