|
|
Just got my first 924 last week.
the vacuum lines are a big mess and holding to each other with masking tape.
I need to redo it all from scratch
My diagram in the engine bay is badly faded and I can't make up anything out of it.
I would really appreciate if someone could explain me what needs to be hooked to what
pictures would be a huge bonus for me
Thank you very much in advance!!!! |

hi, it would help if you posted car year & model.
Here are a couple of simple standard diagrams (with & without emissions stuff). They're not mine - probably done by someone else on this board.

sorry about that, so stuck in my own little bubble I forgot so many different trims of the 924 was available
I have the 79" 2.0L model
The second diagram you have is pretty good rkn
I also based myself on a topic I found on here about someone who installed a WEber, there was a few good pictures to see where the tubing would go

I want to thank you all because now the car runs smoother than ever at just 1000 rpm at idle!! (used to be around 2000 and jerking from time to time)
It feels a lot more prime also when hitting the gas pedal (no sure if this is just in my mind or a true effect) |

happy now?
got another question for you experts, i got 2 vacuum tubing going in my rear quarter panels.(1 in each side)
Not sure where they come from but then are simply cut and hanging in my wheel well ...they are kind of white/beige color...
I think the one on my driver side is leaking something as I had water in the bottom of the trunk the other day...
looks like windshield washer hoses but i don't have a wiper on back window and don't see any hoses going from the front washer fluid bottle to the back of the car _________________ 1979 924 NA |

Yes, I'm happy now, and you should be too
+1 re: sunroof drain hoses...more to the point, there is a hole in each corner of the rear cubbies that those drains should be routed into so that water doesn't just drain and sit in the cubby, which WILL cause a rust problem. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

I saw those holes in the trunk, was actually wondering why those where open like that.
Somehow the cables where cut to hand in the middle of their way to that hole, will need to extend it seems.
is there a special bushing you gyus use to hold the cable in the hole or just good old black sillicone? _________________ 1979 924 NA |

Sorry if this is bringing back an old topic but I need to do the Vacuum line replacement also and the diagrams I found were a little confusing. So what I did was overlay colored keys to an engine bay photo of my 924.
Could some of you professional 924'er take a look and see if I missed anything on it?
